The Hino XL are series of Class 7 and 8 trucks to be manufactured by Hino Motors beginning in 2019. It is based on the popular conventional cab medium duty equivalent, the Hino 600. It will be the first model to be powered by a newly developed 9-liter diesel engine.
The XL7 is a straight class 7 truck offering tri axle. Aside from the XL7, the XL8 is also a class 8 truck offering twin axle tractor. Powered by the newly developed 8.9-liter A09C six-cylinder diesel engine, providing 300hp to 360hp, as well as maximum torque ranges from 900 lb-ft to 1,150 lb-ft. Transmissions come from Allison in auto and Eaton in manual.
Production will begin in 2019 at its new plant in Mineral Wells, West Virginia. It will be marketed for the United States exclusively.
Also in 2019, it will begin production in Canada, at its current plant in Woodstock, Ontario.
